The French rule the Junior World Cycling Championships in Offida. After the success of Ferrand Prevot this morning, the men's road race was won by Breton, Olivier Le Gac, who really turned on the magic in the final few kilometres.

After an endless run of silver medals, including the one from last Friday's time trial, Pauline Ferrand Prevot finally won gold. The French athlete won the title of Junior World Road Champion today in Offida, beating the Italian Rossella Ratto and the American Coryn Rivera in the final sprint.

Tomorrow Offida will host the main event of the Juniors Cycling World Championships, the Road Race for women and men. The women's race will begin at 10am and will extend over a distance of 16 km to be repeated 5 times for a total of 80 km. Fifty eight athletes will compete for the title. The men's race will begin at 2pm and will involve eight laps of the circuit for a total of 128 km. There will be 158 athletes at the starting line.
